Our most unique room. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows opens onto the garden trees, and the king bed — with pendant lamps on each side and a gilded colonial-style painting above it — faces all that green.
A rustic fieldstone half-wall, terracotta floors and wooden beams keep it warm, and there is a writing desk with chairs, a chest of drawers and a TV. The private bathroom has a stone feature wall and a shower. Right outside runs an Inca water channel that has carried water through Ollantaytambo for centuries — fall asleep to its sound.
Like every room at Parwa & Iskay, it is in the Qosqo Ayllu, the original Inca quarter of Ollantaytambo, a five-minute walk from the main square and ten minutes from the train station to Machu Picchu. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included.
